Project Description

IGL participates in the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action project “Constitution-making and deliberative democracy”, and is the member of the working group focusing on online participation and deliberative democracy. The overall aim of the project is to improve and innovate democracy through the use of digital technologies and provide support to e-participation initiatives.

The concrete activities include: benchmarking e-participation, analysis of best and “failed” practices, dissemination of new e-participation methods and tools, capacity building and awareness raising.

Among others, IGL organises a study visit on digital governance and e-participation to Estonia to meet and learn from government, cities, and civil society organisations on the digitalisation lessons over the past 20 years. The project has partners from 38 countries from academia, private sector and public institutions, IGL representing Estonia.
